About yoga

When one speaks about yoga  in general one is referring to a specific enough aspect of the yogui tradition : the physical yoga. Inside the wide spectrum of elements that shapes this philosophical and scientific system, the practice of positions, (also called asanas, that is his name in Sanskrit) sequences, breathing, body cleaning and mudras, has a particular name: the hatha yoga.

The origin of the word hatha can explain in what  consists really this style of yoga, which is much deeper, spiritual and powerful than it is possible to believe. Really his scopes and raison d’être exceed those of a simple system of exercises. It is said that hatha might be translated as force or will. This, in a sense so much in relation with the body as applied to the life. It strengthens the body and the will for treating itself about a discipline that needs commitment, but also it strengthens the capacity of equanimity and of listening to the wisdom of the universal conscience. It is a way to explore the potential of the body and of the mind.

But it has another meaning that is indispensable to mention to understand the real sense of the yoga: “ha” means  “sun” and “tha” means “moon”. Therefore, the it is the yoga of the opposite ones and of the balance. For this motive, it brings strength but also lightness in the body and in the thoughts; it combines the expansion with the concentration; it fills us with energy at the same time as it pacifies us; it balances our feminine aspects with the masculine ones; the exercise with the quietude; the action with the intuition; the physical bodies with the subtle ones; our right hemisphere of the brain with the left-handed; the right side of the body with his opposite; it restores the connection between the mind and the body; it balances the excesses and deficiencies in every chakra. …
